Barricade 4FL is a preemergent herbicide built around the active ingredient prodiamine, engineered to stop weeds before they ever break through the soil surface. Rather than treating an existing weed problem, it works by disrupting root development in newly germinating seedlings, so susceptible weeds simply never get the chance to establish. Because it targets weeds before emergence, timing matters — all applications need to go down before the target weeds germinate, since Barricade won’t touch weeds that have already sprouted.
